seasoned memory athletes will no doubt recall the turbo’s past affiliation with the former soviet union (proxy, tiga tigayevich khristorozhdestvensky), and recent geopolitical developments have prompted the label to once again hedge its bets. our a&r team spent countless hours sifting through layer after layer of russian underground music, a shocking amount of which turned out to be fake soundcloud accounts from producers based in florida. in fact, our best intelligence suggests that dimitri veimar may be the only person making music in russia today. for the 30 minutes a day he is not trading in politically moderate twitter-bot futures, veimar produces dark, raw-dog electro. he has already released music with omnidisc and renate, so it makes little sense to us why we have to communicate with him via a mole in the canadian embassy in moscow, which is further complicated by the fact that the mole is also an aspiring dj/producer whom we have to keep happy at all costs. you have no idea how much has been sacrificed in order to shield you from the realpolitik of international dance music.

medical records presents the third release in our transfusions 12- singles series. certain creatures (born oliver chapoy) currently resides in brooklyn, ny but has a career dating back to the early 90 s. he has roots in the miami hardcore scene that evolved into post-rock and even electronic pop (warm ghost). he began exploring electronics as certain creatures in 2013 with a 12- on styles upon styles with guest vocals from stuart argabright which led to oliver producing the 2014 black rain comeback record on blackest ever black. in 2015, oliver created a lush and enthralling lp vipassana, also released on styles upon styles. for this particular release for transfusions, oliver sought to step out of his production bias comfort zone by recording live takes with minimal editing and production in order to maintain a dirty, raw, haze-filled warehouse aesthetic. mission accomplished! the 12- contains 5 tracks total of uncompromising techno which we are ecstatic to unleash on the world. presented on classic 160gram black vinyl in our transfusions 12- sleeve. mastered by martin bowes at the cage studios, uk. crucial material for fans of surgeon, regis, as well as labels such as downwards, mote-evolver, and the like.

gospel disco time again!!!! after the sucess of -the power of you re love- we deceded to pull out a couple more of our gospel disco dancefloor favorites. elbernita -twinkie- clark-terrell ( who was in the the clark sisters before going solo) recorded this beast for the lp ye shall receive power in 1980-81 for armen boladian s sound of gospel records out of detroit (a sub of the mighty westbound records). both tracks featured on the lp only so desperatly need some 45 action. i m not going to try and sell you this one with tales of its history all you need to do is drop the needle (or press the little play icon)..... straight up monster dancefloor destructor.

holding hands is blasting off with a bang of cosmic proportions, featuring two cuts from desert sound colony’s dance floor alter ego ‘dsc’. far reaching, as its name suggests, takes inspiration from the deep well of our musical past. drum & bass, jungle, breaks, house and hardcore are all present. that being said, this is not just a revival record. these sounds combined take your mind out of the past and place it firmly in a previously unimagined future. hard as nails to begin with, the track eventually builds to a glorious rapture. too hard is deep like the mariana trench and made for dance floor meditation. kicks rock you back and forth as a soft canvas of pads drapes itself over your mind. space is the place people, space is the place. both tracks are produced and sculpted for the club. they want big sound systems and dark rooms. close your eyes, hold hands and experience transcendental space flight…

paul woolford has been seriously spreading his wings of late, becoming omni-present by landing his tracks with ease on labels like xl recordings, running back, houndstooth, hotflush and aus music. not wanting to be shackled by genres, paul comfortably serves up a wide variety of curveballs, from the technoid charge of his 4/4 persuasions to the exhilarating warped hardcore & jungle breaks of his much loved special request project. and so it’s with welcome arms that edible usher him to our release schedule, give him the comfy sofa and let him rip it up with two havoc-inducing cuts that are already a staple in label boss eats everything’s dj sets. title track ‘chaos’ finds paul in a particularly warped mode, bleepy synth pulses oscillate wildly over a granite hard beat as a single sub-bass tone drives the brain-scrambling flurry of modular tones into overdrive. a hydrochloric synth riff settles the bed, but only until the next haul of chaotic blips come firing out of the speakers - highly effective, and possibly deranged warehouse tackle. a future classic. flip side, and woolford shows off some decidedly more soulful chops on ‘meditate . a vocal hook plays against a dubwise bass line and ascending 909 rides, as a seductive and transcendental string arpeggio creeps to the fore and demands a breakdown of its own, serving up a serious bucket load of emotion. not a dry eye in the house.
